In the second instalment of the series, Pablo Ortiz Monasterio presents his work from Mexico City. The book is replete with iconography and symbolism: the indigenous ritual in full ceremonial dress, the household altar, the depiction of the crucifixion of Christ, and the sculpture of Mexico’s coat of arms – a symbol that could have either a religious or imperialist significance, depending on the culture.
