"Michael Schmidt is one of Germany's most contemporary photographers. This book is a collection of images, about half of which are Schmidt's own, and half of which are taken from newspapers and other documents. It is a visual investigation of Germany in the 20th century, from World War I to the re-unification, without text. An extraordinary book, of which MOMA's Peter Galassi says, "[The] pictures are all but incomprehensible on their own, but the carefully sequenced whole is deeply affecting"."
Good / Exterior has some light signs of wear, mostly consisting of a few dirt spots on the cloth cover and some light spotting on the top part of the spine. Top side of the book block has spotting. Interior has slight edge discolouration.
