Ars Cameralis Festival in Poland is revisiting Mark Steinmetz's life and works with a retrospective exhibition at Schoena Palace Museum in Sosnowiec. "Taken From Light" is curated by Misha Kominek and Marek Zieliński, a selection of around 140 black and white images covering his entire career.

To complement that retrospective, "Taken From Light" is also a 368-page publication published by Kominek Books in Berlin, including texts by Steinmetz himself, Sandra Philips, Curator Emeritus of Photography, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Andrew Szegedy-Maszak.

The book shows works spanning Steinmetz's career, including his early Los Angeles photographs, photographs from the South Trilogy, his Sandy Creek exploration and his series Cats.
