ABOUT

In the spring of 2009, John Gossage and Alec Soth travelled together to New Zealand to work on a joint photographic project. For both of them, it was a journey of departures. Gossage has been creating black and white photographic literature for over 40 years and on this trip he produced one of his first colour works. Soth’s work with the 8 × 10 inspired an entire generation of his contemporaries and leaving it behind was the key to approaching the world from a new visual perspective. The results represent a major shift in vision for these two hugely important American photographers.
