ABOUT
Neighbours: The Netherlands as seen by three foreign photographers is published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name in the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum and is the result of the annual photography commission 'Document Nederland' of the Rijksmuseum and NRC Handelsblad daily newspaper. The photographs will be included in the collection of the Dutch History department of the Rijksmuseum.
In this jubilee year of the Rijksmuseum three photographers from neighbouring countries were invited: Eva Leitolf from Germany, Mark Power from Britain and Stephan Vanfleteren from Belgium. Each in their own way they take a look at 'the neighbours': the Netherlands and the Dutch people. Is that really us?
