ABOUT
Belgian photographer Carl De Keyzer travelled to Cuba and returned with unique images of a country in transition. Fidel Castro on a poster on the wall, while a man's T-shirt in the same photo reads FBI. Four Cubans withdrawing money from a bank, while Che Guevara watches from a portrait above their heads. In his new photo book, Carl De Keyzer, a member of the famous Magnum photo agency since 1994 and perhaps Belgium's most famous photographer, captures the duality of Cuba in images. With the eye of a master, he sketches the portrait of a country still rooted in communism, while reaching out to the capitalist West.
