ABOUT
Mono No Aware is an exploration of the fleeting moments in our lives, and our frantic attempts to keep up with them time and time again. Drawing on the Japanese philosophical concept and deeply rooted tradition of ‘mono no aware’ – namely, a sensitivity to the transience of things – the photographer seeks out his own fleeting moments and captures them. In doing so, he uncovers the underlying, often unconscious mechanism that time and again proves crucial to our memory: we must assign meaning to a moment in order to remember it.
